Primal Edge Publishing
Primal Edge is an independent press based in Boquete, Panamá. It publishes practical books about performing under pressure, grounded in breath, body, and the nervous system.
The press exists because most writing on performance sits at one of two extremes. On one side: academic work that rarely survives contact with a live field, a real client, or a third period. On the other: motivational writing that does not hold up under any pressure worth naming. Primal Edge publishes the work that sits in between. Practical, tested, and quiet enough to be useful.
The name carries two ideas that matter to the editorial line. Primal: the body, the breath, the nervous system, the things underneath thinking that decide how thinking goes. Edge: clarity, precision, the place where an idea meets the situation it was supposed to describe. Work that earns the name has both.
The imprint publishes a single author for now. That will change when it should, and not before.
Scott Steele
Scott Steele writes about performing under pressure, drawing on two careers that usually do not share a shelf.
The first is twenty-plus years in enterprise technology leadership across regulated industries: financial services, insurance, reinsurance, and healthcare. Board presentations, regulator reviews, budget ownership, and the kind of incidents that do not announce themselves in advance. The work taught him what composure actually looks like in a room where composure is the job.
The second is his practice in somatic and breath-based training. He is an RYT500 yoga instructor and a certified breathwork facilitator, and he has spent years studying the specific tools that let a nervous system settle fast enough to be useful in real time. He is also a commissioner with the National Ball Hockey League, which keeps one foot inside the high-pressure environments the books are written for.
His books are attempts to bring the two disciplines into one language: practical, repeatable, and useful to anyone whose work depends on showing up the same way twice.

Primal Edge is based in Boquete, a town in the highlands of western Panamá. Place is not incidental. The books are written slowly, edited slowly, and shipped when they are ready. The rhythm of the work is part of the work.
